Maroon Dam Upgrade Project
AE Group have been engaged by Fulton Hogan to provide plant and equipment to undertake the construction of new weighting berm downstream of the existing Maroon Dam as part of the upgrade to SEQ Water assets. The Maroon Dam Upgrade project is required to improve flood security and address a number of dam safety concerns.
Maroon Dam is an earth and rock filled embankment dam constructed over the periods 1969 to 1974. It is located on Burnett Creek, approximately 15-20 km south of Boonah off Boonah–Rathdowney Road, in South East Queensland.
Project Elements include:
- Stabilise upstream embankment with 30m wide weighting berm downstream and associated drainage;
- Excavate the spillway channel to improve discharge to Burnett Creek and generate suitable material for weighting berm;
- Assist in the co-ordination of dam instrumentation relocation and existing services.
