Middlemount Mine – Northern Dump Batter Rehab Works

AE GROUP Civil & Mining  have had a long and successful association with Middlemount Mine Company for over 5 years.

Some of our projects completed in 2017 have been:

Significant Environmental Rehab works that we undertook throughout 2017 were:

• Desilting of numerous sediment dams
• Repairs to Mine Water Dam
• Vital maintenance on 13 Mile Gully Diversion
• Over 25 Hectares of Dump Rehab works and rejuvenation

The works at the North Dump batter required significant planning and methodology to ensure a safe and productive outcome was achieved and to eliminate risk to persons and plant from bogging in the very wet conditions encountered. Depth of the wet material around the toe of the dump was between 2-3 metres deep.

For reference, the haul road is 40m wide and the mud where its coming out of the bunds is up to 1m deep.
